Like that epic scene in the movie, when Shivaay brings a rescued prostitute to Sayyeshaa's house, but she is scared to accept the girl in her house. however the screenplay's dramatic moments tend to go overboard at times. Shivaay was a decent actioner, which was deftly directed by Ajay Devgn and had some terrific action sequences. ![]() Girish Karnad being Join Voight of Pearl Harbour However, that actually contradicts with the real-life take, since Dhoni was the poster boy of Royal Stag, thus making that scene laced with hypocrisy. ![]() Like the scene where he berates his friend for drinking and gives him a lecture on its evils. Anyhoo, since Dhoni himself was involved in the creative processing, there have been scenes where he is perceived as the man with no vices. The Dhoni biopic was more of a PR exercise for Captain Cool (like Azhar, only better directed), who for some reason felt his life story is worth the 100 crores invested in the production. It's that moment you want to actually invent time travel, so that you can go back in time and not watch this movie at all. ![]() While the average direction and bland performances by the lead stars Sidharth Malhotra and katrina kaif already made BBD a tedious watch, the final nail in the coffin was the twist that the entire time travelling headache was actually a dream. A word of advice to you, Mr D'Souza, kids are smarter than you thought and their parents do take them to watch Hollywood movies.īaar Baar Dekho had a high concept plot on paper, about a man who is not sure on whether he wants to get married on the eve of his marriage, and for some mystifying reason, he is suddenly transported into various junctures of his life so that he can evaluate his decision. What is unforgivable is that the director Remo D'Souza thought it was okay to steal Quicksilver's best scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past and he can get away with it. Not only is the movie looked like a 2 hour long ad for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan badly done, it also rips off scenes from better superhero movies made in Hollywood like Superman and X-Men series. Thanks to all this, the scene never had any sort of tension it was supposed to build up.Ī bad cross between a superhero movie and its spoof, A Flying Jatt neither appealed to the kids nor the adults, except for Pahlaj Nihalani. The movie just confirmed this, as not only did the croc look super fake, the idea of making it jump like a dolphin was just a stupid, stupid idea. It was evident in the trailers itself that the much hyped giant crocodile attack looked like a scene taken from a C-grade dubbed Hollywood flick with crappy special effects. It was supposed to be a cool shot, but it turned out to be very farcical. While Veerappan was being gunned down, the cop who was responsible for the operation (Sachiin Joshi), his slain friend's wife (Lisa Ray), and his boss are seen sitting next to the scene, sipping tea. Though a couple of scenes (the jungle encounter) are well-shot, the climactic fake encounter that killed the sandalwood bandit will make you cringe. However Veerappan suffers from poor narrative and some hammy performances (with Lisa Ray being the main culprit). Veerappan was touted as Ram Gopal Varma's comeback to Bollywood with a subject that worked well for him when he attempted the same in Kannada. Writing a guilty person as innocent is forgivable, but drawing parallels to Christ ( the last scene has Azhar sitting in a stadium, with both his hands place straight and wide on the adjacent seats is nothing but that) is not.Ĭops drinking tea watching Veerappan being killed So in the end when Azhar admits that he took the money from the book-keeper because he didn't want him to approach his other team-mates, and that he returned the money back, we looked for a wall to bang our heads. However with a title like Azhar, and with real names thrown in the mix, we can't expect to see this as a pure piece of fiction. ![]() The makers tried to mislead at the start of the movie by putting a disclaimer that the movie is just a piece of fiction based on certain real-life incidents and is not really a biopic. But the genius screenplay wright is not bothered by these little things, and he/she neither expects us to be bothered as well. Sob sob, right? But no one bothered to ask which hospital was willing to kill a healthy human being so that his heart can be taken out, and also whether the blood group and other aesthetics of the donor and the receiver actually matched. In order to save her life, our her, played by Pulkit Samrat, willingly sacrifices his life and donates his heart to her, so that she can survive. Yami Gautam's character is dying for some unexplained heart disease from which there is no escape, unless someone is willing to transplant their heart to hers.
